sorry i need to talk about Star Fox Adventures a bit

playing and watching Trog alongside has been a bit eye-opening. i had pleasant memories of the game from childhood that honestly no longer stand the test of time. looking back the furthest i made it was the prison level where you lose your weapon before the SharpClaw disguise. but i always had a bit of whimsy while exploring the levels and i loved the atmosphere of the various locations. when i look back though it's kinda funny. it's exhaustingly mediocre. it fails as a collectathon despite craving the roots of it. there are a couple optional goals but they don't feel particularly rewarding at all. having some crates show up for rescuing LightFoot babies made me lose my mind. collecting all the Cheat Tokens satisfied that desire but it still felt hollow. watching the final boss and how the game ended was incredible, it really seems like the developers ran out of time for that section of the game. i'm not excited for that fight.

also, i assumed you'd play Krystal for another part of the game at the end or something. or perhaps even better dialogue to wrap her into the story but running out of time etc. killed that. she really filled the role of the story's "princess" in such a monotonous way. got trapped in a crystal for sexy saxophone music to start when Fox sees her. amazing. if you talk to Slippy after that he'll mention how you had the hots or whatever.

i'm very curious to see how they ended up advertising this given both the Krystal factor and i guess the Dinosaur Planet thing. i've heard about a leaked build but i'm personally more interested in a potential website and magazine ads or demo videos. these thoughts may end up reappearing on a future dedicated game page or i may end up just linking or quoting this in some form.
